Manic Monday (Double Stuf Edition) [#6]

Hey baby. It’s been a while. You missed me? Because I know I’ve been missing you…
And even if you didn’t miss my sharp wit during my brief ‘hiatus’, I know for a fact that your Radio has been missing this kind of Control. Start this week off right with a long overdue Manic Monday, double-stuffed just in case Spring Break keeps me from doing my duty to y’all next week (very likely).
Doubling up on all the goodness in the post, we got double the moombah, double the prog and double the electro to get you going. We’re about to put five hour energy out of business with fresh bangers from ranging from Nadastrom‘s heavy-heavy moombahcore to Tim Mason‘s uplifting prog goodness. So go grab a fresh pair of underwear, and catch the dirt after the jump. Continue reading

Skrillex @ Electric Brixton After Show, London Feb 18th // With Alvin Risk & SebastiAn

Last night, Skrillex from L.A., the Grammy award-winning cyborg played at London’s Electric Brixton for After Show following his gig at the O2 Academy Brixton. Alvin Risk and the club’s MC got the crowd feeling rowdy, solidifying a wild cross-section of London’s rave scene into one gyrating mass. At 2 am SebastiAn took the decks, showcasing the darker side of electro- and tech house with tracks like Nero’s remix of ‘C.T.F.O.’ and his own remix of Daft Punk’s ‘Human After All’. And then there was Skrillex…

Caution: Not For The Faint of Heart (and Ears)

This time I thought I’d bring something more dramatic to the table. Feed on your electro-house, progressive-house needs with these remedies. Turn up your speakers for this one! No need to say too much, just let the drop of each track break your heart and, well, ear drums. To my defense, I did try to warn you in the title, sorry I’m not sorry.

Just wanted to say, I rang in the New Year with these Belgian music scientists in Shanghai. A shout out to the guys for a killer set, even if I swear half the people present on the dance-floor couldn’t pronounce the duo’s name. I recognized this song from the night. Proost!

Zedd – Slam The Door (Original Mix)

Zedd has come a long way. The first I’d ever heard of the guy, he was just a feature to support Skrillex on his EP, who himself was just starting to get his name out. Zedd’s first original release was a gimmicky electro update of the Zelda theme, which I found to be kind of unbearable. But following a slew of rowdy remixes and an absolutely EPIC release on Skrillex’s fledgling label OWSLA (I’m talking, of course, about Shave It), Zedd has dropped another banger on our unsuspecting heads. Sampling none other than youtube’s very own Winnebago Man, the track features an unorthodox beat that still goes as hard as any other. Here’s the youtube video Zedd sampled; catch the track after the jump.

Swedish House Mafia Feat. John Martin – Save the World (Remixes)

Damn, this song is popular. Swedish House Mafia, consisting of three individually superstarrific DJ’s, knows how, when, and with whom to make hugely successful edm anthems. I never got around to falling in love with this song, but how its remixes would turn out still intrigued me. Take a look:
