I wish I could have been at UMF to see this. RCP hero Style of Eye showed threw down a superb set, with a wild track list featuring productions by Dillon Francis, Diplo & GTA, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Even Missy Elliott‘s 2002 anthem ‘Work It‘ made its way into his routine. This was SoE’s debut UMF set, and he meant business. At the 1:46 mark, the set plummets into the depths rave hell, probably bursting a couple dozen skulls in and around the Miami crowd. Managing to cater to the American mainstream with a few festival staples while still showcasing his more esoteric house influences, Eklöw took the crowd in different directions every couple minutes, letting loose with some rapid fire transitions. I can’t wait until I get to see this guy live again. Listen up for his and Tom Staar‘s new track ‘After Dark‘ and his remix of Zedd‘s ‘Clarity’. He also played fellow Swede DJ Carli‘s new track, ‘Look Up‘, which is out now on A-Trak‘s Fool’s Gold Records, and definitely worth a listen.

It feels as though I’ve been waiting for this for FOREVER. Without further ado, Style of Eye brings you the Dub Mix of his new track ‘Devastate’ in celebration of reaching 25k likes on his Facebook page. I am losing my mind.
OWSLA just released today a compilation of new, exclusive tracks from friends and family featuring productions from some RCP heroes like Style of Eye, Alvin Risk, and Nick Thayer. The album is a clusterfucques of raging electro house and dubstep, with some moombahton and tech house included for good measure. Free music from Skrillex’s label showcasing some of the best up-and-coming production talent – you can’t complain. One nitpick, however, is that I’ve been waiting to hear the version of ‘Devastate’ that Style of Eye uploaded from a radio rip from Pete Tong – instead, we got some half-assed, earphone friendly version in the compilation. Not to worry, Style-fans, cuz the word is that the version we heard in the Pete Tong radio rip is his dub mix, and he’s “planning something special” for that. Stay tuned, and peep some of our favorite remixes below.
Style of Eye, hands down my favorite Swedish producer/DJ, has finally released his remix of Swedish newcomer SoSo’s latest single ‘Who’s Gonna Love Me?‘ The remix is a jumpy and upbeat electro house heater that showcases classic Eklow vocal sampling and synth chords. The original version is a sexy alternative track from a likely Lykke Li contender, and it gave Style of Eye a lot of melody to work with. Check out some live footage of Style of Eye’s Jan 1st performance at The Wall in Taipei, and the original SoSo track after the jump.
Coming out on Beatport tomorrow, on Ingrosso’s Refune Records, is Style of Eye‘s ‘We Are Boys’ – a caustic and hauntingly anthemic electro house monster that resembles SHM’s elegant tonal styling in Miami 2 Ibiza and One. You might not be feeling the vocals – I don’t – but the instrumental is epic. And I never say ‘epic’.
Look out for 1:26 and 2:14 because they will have you hooked.
