2011 ended hugely for Aylen, with his remixes trending nice and high on Hypem charts and a bumpin’ Dec 29th set at Pacha NYC alongside Afrojack, R3hab, Bobby Burns and Apster. Throughout the year, this New Jersey based producer/DJ had been keeping busy churning out remixes for tracks as hot as Avicii’s ‘Blessed’, David Guetta’s ‘Without You’, and Laidback Luke’s & Steve Aoki’s ‘Turbulence’. His latest creation, a remix of Skrillex and Ellie Goulding’s ‘Summit’, went wild on the blogoshpere and carried the hype behind Aylen to new heights – and this is just the beginning. Check out the intensely groovy electro house rendition of Skrillex’s mellow ‘Summit’ below then make the jump to find out what Aylen has in store for us in 2012.

Catch the full Bangarang EP after the jump, just for all you Radio Control Freaks. Continue reading →
For better or for worse, today’s YSLT is for songs that sound like Skrillex’s music. I see it as indication that Skrillex needs to explore his sound further, as to not fall into a self-diluting rhythm. To be fair though, he’s come out with the 120bpm Reptile, the moombahton track Amplifire, and the house hit All I Ask of You. Actually, now that I think about it… not bad, dude.
Do you remember all that hype surrounding the Bassnectar Remix of Lights? I personally don’t understand what that was all about, seeing as this remix was out long before. THIS is a dubstep remix – a disarmingly calm intro, an unexpected drop, and two broken speakers.
