This video is a couple months old – but this blog isn’t! And I never need an excuse to post some Australian music up here on Radio, especially when it’s about Bag Raiders. Can’t get enough of this song. Below I’ve got a breathy, mellow remix from Eli Escobar. Nice emphasis on vocals, but I wish the instrumental was more substantial.

You Should Listen To… [#5]
I would like to share with everyone some awesome electronic dance tracks that have found themselves nestled somewhere in my top played list in iTunes.
This is for anyone who still classifies all electronic music as ‘techno,’ or who turn their alt-rock noses up at their friends for listening to what they choose to describe only as ‘uhn tiss uhn tiss uhn tiss.’ The same way that your indie buddies link you stuff like this, these cats could also maybe give this type of music a chance too. I have here a blister pack of electro house champions that they would, and you would, regret missing out on…
Bag Raiders Feat. Dan Black – Sunlight (Remixes)
Once again, I am writing about some damn Aussies…
In November of last year, these two individuals, known collectively as Bag Raiders (don’t want to know where the name came from), released their feel-good groove-a-long ‘Sunlight.’ This Summery anthem was about 8 months shy of said season, but it provided some much appreciated island imagery and solar metaphors during a bitter winter on this side of the Atlantic (first NYU snow day in years suckas). Just in case you weren’t aware, these are the geniuses behind that sentimental disco hit ‘Shooting Stars.’ I never really appreciated Dan Black’s vocals until this song, I had always just thought he was another Jason fucking Mraz. Since the time Sunlight was released, it racked up a handful of remixes – with a couple of them appearing on the Single at its release.
So put on those fake Ray-Bans and slather on that SPF cuz I’m about to expose you to a big blazing ball of vitamin D.
And D’s for disco.
