I’m back. Been a bit busy for the past couple months moving to Shanghai and starting classes, so here’s my apology. Felix Cartal’s new track, featuring foxy vocals from Maja Ivarrsson of The Sounds, had a ferocious electro house remix done by Botnek (worth looking up NOW), but this one by AutoErotique is truly mental. I’ve also got for you some fresh European sounds with new songs from Benga, Brodinski and Russ Chimes. Don’t miss out on that Seven Lions remix of Tritonal’s ‘Still With Me,’ either – it’s gorgeous.

This year-old unreleased remix was originally intended as a B-side to their official remix of this scorcher of a track from Tiësto. These guys only just uploaded this to their soundcloud a few hours ago, but I managed to snag an mp3 for our Radio Control Plan regulars. You Should Listen To… [#2]

I don’t see why moombahton (learn about it here) is getting so much crap from haters lately. There are a lot of moombahton originals really doing this new ‘genre’ justice, and there are tons of remixes out there to complement this new movement. But haters gon hate, and they’re saying that it doesn’t deserve to be a genre because if you take any dutch house song (think one of those Chuckie remixes) and slow it down to 108-110 bpm, you’ve got yourself a moombahton bootleg. I agree to a certain extent – there exist a lot of ‘moombahton edit’s that follow that same principle:

  1. Slow it down to 108-110bpm.
  2. Add that dirty dutch drum track.
  3. Add ‘Moombahton Edit/Remix’ after your name to the title of the song.

Lykke Li – Little Bit (Remixes)

Lykke Li is a Swedish musician who’s made some really sexy songs. Her new album ‘Wounded Rhymes’ is out now, so you might want to check that out later.

Lykke Li’s almost like a hotter version of Lady Gaga. She’s also provided prime remix material for the edm scene, with her first single ‘Little Bit’ churning out a whole bunch of remixes and edits. With all these remixes, Little Bit is basically another ‘Starry Eyed,’ just not as annoying. Not all of them are good, but not all of them are worth passing up. I’ve gone through a dozen of these recreations so you won’t have to, and here’s what I found. I’ve shortlisted them into groups based on how awesome they are.

You Should Listen To… [#1]

Starting off our YSLT series, I’ve got a bunch of tracks that fall under my ‘electronic songs with sexy female vocals’ category. I think everybody should have these in their library (this is the post I have always wanted to make). So here are some of the most luscious edm gems I’ve come across.
