Stockholm-based Linus Eklow, aka Style of Eye, is the Deadmau5 that never was. He’s got tracks that have similar feels to ‘Strobe’ and even the dark edits and grungy remixes comparable to the Mau5′ techier productions. Listening to Style of Eye’s music is like being at a sweaty headphone rave in a basement of a derelict munitions factory, complete with exposed pipes and dripping walls, with only the light of a few lasers piercing through the sweet vapors of the fog machine. I’ve never experienced that… but I would like to think that I could imagine it. When you listen to the songs, you should really listen to them all the way through, because I made the mistake of skipping around the first time I heard them and they didn’t hit me right away. But after letting them play through I realized that everything made sense – ‘Girls’ is a great example.

This is an old one. Huge dubstep vibes from this one, but it almost sounds like moombahton – might wanna try slowing this one down ;) The hook at 1:57 may remind of you of Liu Kang and Johnny Cage’s trip to Outworld in the first MK movie, or maybe that’s just me. And if you know how to pronounce the second producer’s name, please type it out phonetically in the comments for me!
