It’s me, emptyseven, the mad scientist currently reviving Disco for your ears, and oh boy do I have some goodies for you all this week. A bit of Tuffem Up! tuneage from down under to begin with, some Louis La Roche (remember the name, you’ll see it a fair bit) and of course, one of my personal nu disco favourites: Grum. Check all this out (and maybe a bonus Disco booster) after the jump:
Defeat – VLVT (Farfletched Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
If any of you guys are stationed in Australia, check out Tuffem Up! Records. Based down under, there guys bring out some sick electro artists in the vein of what you’re listening to now. The original of this track is alright, but Farfletched just KILLS IT in that intro.
BONUS DISCO DOSE
Barretso – We Won’t Stop (Defeat Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Just because Defeat is awesome.
TV Rock Feat. Rudy – In The Air (Grum Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
If Skrillex is the Prince of Dubstep, Grum would be the Prince of Nu Disco. This Scottish dude has produced some bangin’ remixes that sound like they were snatched straight out of the 80s. Expect a funky bass, striking claps, high stabbing synths and ethereal vocals to complete this remix.
Ocelot – Beating Hearts (Louis La Roche Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Louis La Roche, who you’ll be seeing a lot of on Disco Ain’t Dead, delivers an absolute club banger here. This track is epic. There’s just no other way to describe it. In terms of soundscapes, it’s standing on top of a mountain overlooking the universe. When you hear “Yeah, yeah, yeah”, prepare to start jumping, because the drop is catchy as fuck.
